http://www.uwsp.edu/geo/projects/geoweb/participants/dutch/Virtual%20Field%20Trips.HTM
This site belongs to Professor Dutch from U. Wisc. Green Bay. He calls them Virtual field trips. Each one has simplified topo maps of the area AND photographs of the same features. This is very useful in giving students a better idea of what topo maps are.
Science Education Support on the Internet
Welcome to my blog. I have been adding material that I feel will be useful to all teachers who want to add to their science content. I hope that you will find it useful. Please comment so that I know that you are there!

Google Search Shortcuts
Using the Google Search feature can get you some great information quickly. Typing in the word "earthquake" will return the location of several recent earthquakes...recent within minutes... and a link to see the location on a map.
Type in a math equation, and you will get the result.
Type in something like "45 degrees f to c" and you will get the conversion from Fahrenheit to Celsius.
Try "map Paris" or "weather Paris", and there it is.

Oh, the Weather Outside is Frightful.....
In Earth Science I always like to take advantage of current events, no matter where in the curriculum I happen to be......tsunamis and earthquakes wait for no man. In the case of severe weather, as in the coming snowstorm, weather.com is a great resource for watching the storm come and go. So even if you should be, by some chance stuck at home.........let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!
